STUDY OF ACADEMIC SELF-EFFICACY OF STUDENTS

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of academic self-efficacy of the higher education students. Analyzed are the features of interrelation of educational and personal self-efficacy characteristics: global self-reflexivity, level of anxiety, academic motivation, dedication, perseverance, self-organization and focus on the present. Academic self-efficacy is considered as a personal situation-specific construct that defines an individual’s
confidence in their own abilities, affects the students’ attitude to the process of learning and self-education. The author proposes to create in the higher educational institutions special conditions and conduct psychological and educational activities aimed at increasing of the level of academic self-efficacy of the students. Further study of the problem of self-efficacy and academic development of students may be associated with the study.
