PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PERSON WITH VARYING DEGREE OF READINESS FOR BEGGING
Abstract
In this article the results of an empirical analysis of the psychological properties of persons with different degree of readiness for begging have presented. The attitude of people to the phenomenon of begging and to those who ask for alms had been analysed. Two groups of respondents have singled out: the first one – persons who, under no circumstances, would not ask for alms. The second group has consisted of those who would be potentially able to ask financial help from other people (ask for alms) in critical life situations. The psychological properties that are important for adaptation and social regulation of behavior of people with different degree of readiness to begging have been characterized. The level of subjective control and the dominant strategies of psychological protection of the subjective reality of the two groups under study have been described.
