Abstract

The theoretic-empiric analyses of aspects of problem of peculiarities of hardiness and psychological resilience of personality in youthful age as warning of negative consequences of military conflict is presented in the article. The peculiarities of hardiness and psychological resilience of personality in youthful age are defined empirically.

Hardiness is a key personal variable that mediates the effects of stressful factors, including chronic, on somatic and mental health, as well as the success of the activity.

In our opinion, the concept of hardiness should be considered as a psychological phenomenon, which at the
content-structural level of analysis is a complex integral characteristic of the individual, which includes several psychological components: emotional, cognitive, moral, volitional, and behavioral.

Concepts of psychology resilience and hardiness are not synonymous.

We consider psychological resilience as an integrative feature of individual which manifests itself in ability to maintain a stable level of psychological and physical functioning in critical situations, to come out of such situations without persistent violations, to successfully adapt to adverse changes. The concept of psychological resilience describes the ability to overcome difficulties, to adapt positively, and to function successfully in critical situations.

Determinants of psychological elasticity in young people are: 1) taking risks; 2) involvement; 3) control.

Persons of the youth who do not experience their weakness in attempts to change something in the political-legal sphere of their country are more capable of confronting their fears; are more likely to overcome their problems; are more willing to act in the absence of reliable guarantees of success; to a greater degree consider the desire for simple comfort and safety as impoverishing the life of the person, in comparison with the youth who do not even try to change anything in the political-legal sphere of their country, as they feel their weakness.

Persons of the youth who do not experience their weakness in attempts to change something in the political-legal sphere of their country, are more characterized by harmonious interaction with the surrounding world, enjoy the pleasure of their own activities, perceive themselves as a significant and valuable person, included in the solution of life tasks, despite the presence of stressful factors of influence, compared with those of the youth who do not even try to change anything in the political-legal sphere of their country, as they feel their weakness.
