Abstract

The research paper outlines the topical problems of educational activities for pupils with autism disorders, in particular, the peculiarities of forming linguistic knowledge, skills and abilities in them. Namely, the main research objective is to develop an effective model for controlling the educational process aimed at acquiring linguistic knowledge and skills by pupils with autism disorders. Thus, the research paper analyzes the main types and functions of control over educational activities, substantiates the role and significance of self-assess- ment skills in the context of efficiency of the educational process.

In particular, an important emphasis of the author’s position is the substantiation of the necessity of quality control over the educational activity of pupils with autism disorders, namely, the application of a four-level
method for assessing educational achievements in this category of children is suggested. Thus, the research paper analyzes the following levels of acquiring linguistic knowledge, skills and abilities: passive-reproductive, reproductive, reproductive-productive and productive. A clear criterion system in the context of each of the levels allows for an informed diagnosing of the actual level of pupils, which, accordingly, provides an opportunity to effectively plan further education and development.

The research paper also presents a set of criteria for assessing the written skills of pupils with autistic disorders, which also contributes to timely well-grounded planning and adjustment of the educational process. The model of the implementation of quality control of the process of acquiring linguistic knowledge, skills and abilities of pupils with autistic disorders presented in the research paper has some practical significance in the context of improving the quality of the educational process in this category of pupils.
