Abstract

This article concerns the gender aspect of the mathematical talent problems. The approaches, which are present in psychological science, are described in relation to the explanation of the reasons of quantitative predominance of male persons among mathematically talented persons. The main probabilistic factors of this quantitative gender inequality are analyzed. It was found out that the dominant factors of men among the talented in mathematics are sociopsihologic conditions, in which the personality was formed, in particular the role expectations from her/him as a person of a certain sex from the social environment. The mechanisms of social influence, which destroy the motivation of girls to develop their own giftedness and further self-realization in mathematics, are considered.
