PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE IMPACT OF SPEECH ON THE FORMATION OF THE CHILD’S INTELLIGENCE IN THE CONDITIONS OF BILINGUALISM

Abstract

The article deals with the impact of speech on the child’s thinking in bilingualism. Based on the materials of the study conducted in families which speak the language of each parent simultaneously, as well as in schools with two sectors of education (Russian and Azerbaijani sectors), it was concluded that the cognitive abilities of children are largely related to languages in which they learn or communicate in a social environment. A big role is also played by the television, where it is possible to watch programs in two or three languages. The Azerbaijani population watches the broadcasts mainly in Turkish, only the population of the older generation looks and understands the broadcasts in Russian. In this regard, there is a specificity of the formation of the cognitive skills in children and adolescents. Interest in the English language is growing due to social networks and the Internet base. Psychological features of the impact of speech on the child’s consciousness is expressed in the nature of thinking, emotional peace and attitude to reality.
