Abstract

The article substantiates the possibility of using walking to improve the mental and physical health of the individual. The variety of the phenomenon of human walking from the biomechanical side has been analyzed and the excessive cognitive simplicity of its representation of the consciousness of not only ordinary citizens but also specialists in physical culture and sports is shown. Possible variants of the psychocorrelation of cognitive primitiveness of categorization of walking are considered with the purpose of expanding the potential of its application for improving physical health, emotional state and stimulation of intellectual activity.
