THE HISTORY OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITY OF PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract

First introduced into scientific data relating to the teaching of psychology at the Imperial University of Kharkov in the first half of the XIX century. In this connection, it is possible to consider a university psychology as a coherent and specific phenomenon of the national culture. Presented summarizing research data on the first textbook on psychology in Ukraine. Analyzes the understanding of the basic abilities of the man and his instincts. Stresses the main characteristics of the mental processes that are described in the textbook. Indicated on the principle of determinism, which served as a methodological basis for the description of mental phenomena Peter M. Lyubovskiy, wrote the first manual on psychology.
