THE FAMILY’S ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CHILD’S MATHEMATICAL GIFTEDNESS

The article deals with the psychological and pedagogical problem of the influence of the family on the formation and development of the mathematical abilities of the child and his/her giftedness. Family patterns are identified, which determine the development or inhibition of the development of mathematical giftedness of a child. As the primary conditions for influencing the formation and development of mathematical abilities, the peculiarities of parent-child interaction styles, structural characteristics of the family, the specifics of relations between its members, the emotional climate in the family, and others are considered. The questions of psychological support of the family, where a mathematically gifted child grows, are highlighted; possible ways of interaction of family and school on this issue are outlined.
