TOLERANCE AND MULTICULTURALISM IN CONTEMPORARY CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION

Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual problem of modernity – the issues of globalization and the multicultural formation of public relations. It is noted that multiculturalism contains such problems as unity, diversity, the difference of cultures, the comprehension of national, cultural, personal identity and the rationale for plural­ism, the ideology of the diversity of cultures. The article emphasizes the connection of the problem with the national consciousness, mentality, and tolerance, since in conditions of peaceful coexistence, tolerance triggers the sustainable development of diverse cultures. The author analyzes various approaches to the problem of multiculturalism, reflects on the formulation of the problem in the context of state policy in Azerbaijan. The ending of the research demonstrates the importance of multicultural values in shaping the world outlook of young people, formation of their ethnic stereotypes, their role in the formation of the national mentality and identity.
