Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of socio-psychological adaptation on internal forced migrants in the regions of their settlement. Among the important factors of adaptation the special attention is paid to the attitude of the host population to internal migrants. It is demonstrated that the feeling of losing control over situation, self-incompetence are expressed among migrants in the feeling of anger, aggression and hostility towards the host population. In the relationships between host population and migrants the key role is played by socio-psychological and cultural peculiarities of the way the groups perceive each other, the result of which being stereotypes. In the work the results of empirical investigation are presented, in which the key factors of attitude towards the internal migrants were defined as tolerance, the quality of life, some social characteristics (age, social capital, etc.)
