EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION RUSSIAN DISPLACED PERSONS IN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

This article is devoted to experimental studies of social and psychological adaptation of Russian settlers in Azerbaijan and reveals the mechanisms of social and psychological adaptation. Based on the results of the research the issues of ethnic identity and its role in the adaptation process. The study showed that the maintenance of relations with compatriots is not a major factor contributing to the preservation of ethnic identity. Most of its settlers consider themselves natives. The study found that the dominant type is a normal, positive ethnic identity Ethnic indifference line with the average. Indicators of ethnonihilism, ethnoegotism, ethno isolation and etnofanatizms quite low. Respondents characterized by a positive ethnic identity, which has a positive effect on the process of social and psychological adaptation.
