Abstract

The paper demonstrates the results of experimental study of adolescents’ representations regarding the readiness to support and help others, and their attribution the prosocial treats to their Self-concept. 616 participants of 7 age groups have completed the GSA questionnaire. As the findings show, the prosocial treats occupy the primary positions within the objective component of individual identity. The adolescents are aware of social importance of prosociality and percept themselves as subjects of helping, caring and supportive activity. It confirms the maturity of dispositional basis of prosociality that, according to previous researches, can positively predict individual’s prosocial behavior, because the Self is interpreted as the structure which mediated between attitudes and behavior.
